Privacy Policy
How this website handles information, and what it deliberately does not do.
Owner action required before launch. Section 9 needs a
privacy contact address, and this policy should be reviewed by counsel alongside the
practice’s HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices, which is a separate document covering
patient records. See docs/OWNER-CHECKLIST.md.
1. The short version
This is a static informational website. It does not have a contact form, an account system, or a database. It does not ask you for your name, email address, phone number, or any health information. It does not set advertising cookies, and no advertising or social media tracking pixel is installed on it. The one third-party element is the Google map embedded on the contact page.
Appointments are booked on a separate platform operated by SimplePractice. Information you give there is governed by that platform’s terms and by the practice’s own patient privacy practices, not by this policy.
2. Information this website collects
Directly from you: none. There is no form on this site to submit information through.
Automatically: like nearly all websites, this site is delivered by a hosting provider that keeps standard server logs. Those typically include your IP address, browser type, the page requested, and the time of the request, and are used to deliver the site, keep it secure, and diagnose faults.
3. Cookies and similar technologies
This website sets no cookies of its own. It stores nothing in your browser’s local storage.
Fonts are served from this website rather than from a font provider, and no third-party script runs on page load. The one exception is the embedded Google map on the contact page, described in the next section.
4. Third-party services
Some parts of the site take you to, or can load, services operated by other companies.
- Booking portal (SimplePractice). Booking links open
precisionperformancephysio.clientsecure.mein a new tab. Once you are there, SimplePractice’s privacy terms and the practice’s patient privacy practices apply. - Google Maps. The contact page embeds a Google map, which loads with the page. That request goes to Google, which may receive your IP address, information about your browser, and may set cookies, under Google's own terms rather than this policy. The full address is also given in plain text on the same page, so you do not need the map to find us.
- Instagram. Instagram links are ordinary links. No Instagram content is embedded in these pages, so Meta receives nothing unless you follow a link.
- Hosting. The site is served by a hosting provider that processes request data as described in section 2.
5. Analytics
No analytics platform is installed on this website at present. The site code includes neutral hooks that would let a privacy-conscious analytics tool be added later, measuring things like how often the booking button is pressed. Those hooks are inactive unless an analytics tool is deliberately connected.
If analytics is added, this policy will be updated first, no health-related information will be included in any measurement, and no measurement will be attached to booking or health information interactions without review.
6. Health information
Please do not send health information to this website, to a social media account, or by ordinary email. None of those are private or secure channels. Anything relating to your care belongs in the secure booking and records portal, or in conversation with Amy.
Patient records created in the course of care are handled under the practice’s separate Notice of Privacy Practices. This website policy does not replace it.
7. Children
This website is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from them. Where a patient is under 18, care is arranged with a parent or legal guardian.
8. Your rights
If you are a Virginia resident, the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act gives you rights over personal data that businesses hold about you, including rights to access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of that data, and to opt out of certain processing. Because this website does not collect personal data beyond standard server logs, there is usually very little to act on, but you are welcome to ask.
Health information created in the course of your care is subject to separate legal protections and its own request process.
9. Contacting us about privacy
Privacy questions about this website can be sent to the practice using the contact options on the contact page.
A dedicated privacy contact address will be published here before launch.
10. Changes
This policy will be updated when the website changes in a way that affects it, and the “last updated” date above will change with it.
This policy describes the website. It is not legal advice, and it does not create any contractual obligation. If you have a legal question about your data, speak to a qualified adviser.
This website is for general information only. It does not provide medical advice, does not diagnose or treat any condition, and does not create a therapist-patient relationship. Results vary from person to person. If you have a medical concern, seek evaluation from a qualified professional. In an emergency, call 911. Read the full disclaimer.
