Dr. Amy Driessen, PT, DPT, CSCS, CDNS
Helping active adults and athletes move confidently, recover faster, and perform at their best.
Why this practice exists
Amy founded Precision Performance Physio because she wanted to practise a particular way: one therapist who knows your history from the first visit to the last, enough time to actually look at how you move, and a plan that gets revised when the evidence says it should be.
She also wanted rehab and training to stop being two separate conversations. Too often a patient finishes physical therapy feeling better in a clinic and then has no idea how to bridge from a resistance band back to the thing they came in for. Working out of a treatment space inside a gym removes that gap. The barbell, the rig, and the floor space are right there, so progress can be tested rather than assumed.
How she works
Every episode of care starts with an evaluation: history first, then watching you move, then testing what the history and the movement suggest needs testing. Amy will tell you what she found in language you can repeat to someone else, and what she thinks the plan should be.
From there the work is collaborative. You should know why you are doing each exercise, what it is meant to change, and how you will both know whether it worked. If something is not moving, the plan changes.
The goal is not to be dependent on your physical therapist. It is to understand your body well enough that you do not need to be.

Practice Founder, Precision Performance Physio, LLC, Chantilly, VA
Dr. Amy Driessen is a licensed physical therapist and holds a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. She is not a medical doctor. Physical therapy is one part of a care team; when a problem falls outside the scope of physical therapy, she will tell you and help you find the right referral.
The space
Inside a working gym in Chantilly
Precision Performance Physio operates from a treatment space inside Cardinal CrossFit at 14080 Sullyfield Circle. Hands-on treatment happens at the table. The retest happens a few steps away, under load, with the equipment your goal actually calls for.
You do not need to be a member of the gym, and you do not need to do CrossFit. It is simply a better room to rehabilitate in than a windowless treatment bay.
Off the clock
Amy is her own test case
Amy plays soccer, hikes, and kayaks. She trains, cooks and bakes, reads, and has been known to give a weekend over to a Netflix series without apology.
It matters more than it sounds. Understanding what it feels like to want your body back for something specific, whether a season, a trail, a lift, or a race, is the difference between a plan that ends at “no longer painful” and a plan that ends where you wanted to be.
